Adult Next Steps Sewing (3 weeks) : Level 1 : 30 June, 7 & 14 July 10-1pm

This workshop is aimed at those sewists who have attended our beginners course, or for those who have some experience but are a bit rusty and want to consolidate their basic skills and learn some new techniques.

This class runs for 3 hours each session across 3 weeks and will take you through a series of projects each week working on building your confidence and extending your range of skills.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN:

*First we’ll do a quick recap on basic skills

*sew an iPad cover using:

*quilting techniques, binding and learn how to insert button holes

* sew a gorgeous all purpose tote using:

* Webbing straps, lining and an internal zip pocket

*sew a circular drawstring bag perfect for makeup or travel.

* understand how to sew curves and create a drawstring

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

For the first session you need to bring half a metre of your chosen fabric as well as some matching / contrast bias binding.
(please email us if you need further assistance with this as you will be unable to complete the first day without this)

You will be issued a list of fabrics that you could use for the following weeks’ projects.

If you require this in advance of starting the course then please email us and we can send you the list upfront so that you can pre-purchase all the required material before the course starts

WHAT’S PROVIDED

you will receive expert instruction from our experienced tutors, use of all our machines tools and threads, wadding and teas/coffees.
