Adult Intro to Sewing (3 weeks) : Level 1 : 9, 16 & 23 June 10-1pm

So many adults I meet tell me how they haven’t sewn for years or not since school and would love to have another go or that they have a machine tucked away in a cupboard at home that has never been touched… sound familiar?

Our Studio has been running children and family classes for many years and now we are delighted to bring you a range of sewing classes for adults. From complete beginner to those ready to challenge their skills, our small class sizes ensure maximum time given to each person and we can’t wait for you to get started!

This class runs for 3 hours each session across 3 weeks and will take you through a series of projects each week working on building your confidence and extending your range of skills. .
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN:

*Understand all the parts and functionality of the sewing machine

*How to set up the machine including winding on the bobbin and changing the needle

*How to use the stitch selector and sew straight lines and curves

* inserting a zip

* create and sew a waistband and hemming techniques

*Understanding seam allowance

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

For the first session you need to bring half a metre of non directional fabric or we have a limited selection for you to choose from.
You will be issued a list of fabrics that you could use for the following weeks’ projects.

If you require this in advance of starting the course then please email us and we can send you the list upfront so that you can pre-purchase all the required material before the course starts

WHAT’S PROVIDED

you will receive expert instruction from our experienced tutors, use of all our machines tools and threads, fabric for the first lesson and a cushion pad to insert into your cushion cover.
